Everyone knows that The Banana Republic owns The Gap, but did you know that luxury handbag authority, Coach, offers a less expensive brand, Poppy, geared toward a younger audience? This has become a common trend in today’s fashion world, where luxury brands are offering more affordable lines geared toward a more frugal audience. Here are a few of the coolest subsidiary brands that we could find…

The Kenneth Cole fashion and footwear empire includes Kenneth Cole New York, Kenneth Cole Reaction and Kenneth Cole Unlisted. The initial parent line, Kenneth Cole New York, has a range of stylish staples including jeans, jackets and loafer at prices from $60 to $795. The Rive Gauche line has become nearly as popular as the original Yves Saint Laurent line. Over the years, Rive Gauche has been supervised by such fashion luminaries as Alber Elbaz, Tom Ford and Stefano Pilati. The brand continues to serve up the fashion staples that have made YSL a celebrated name in fashion, including bringing menswear to women in pantsuits, tuxedos and other touches.
